Small but Mighty: Designing a digital home for Stowaway’s right-size makeup

Stowaway Cosmetics, a startup committed to reducing makeup waste, needed an e-commerce platform that embodied their mission to offer "right-sized" products. Traditional makeup often comes in oversized containers, leading consumers to either use expired products or waste them by throwing them away. Stowaway's solution is to provide makeup in smaller, more practical sizes, ensuring that customers can use their products entirely before they expire.

We partnered with Stowaway to design a sleek, user-friendly website that enhances their brand identity with a streamlined shopping experience. Understanding the needs of Stowaway's mobile-savvy, clean, and conscious customers, we focused on creating a mobile-first design that emphasizes the convenience and practicality of their products. Custom product pages highlight the benefits of "right-sized" makeup, while product “kit” pages allow users to customize their selection of Stowaway’s most popular products. It is all brought together under a minimalist interface that makes navigation intuitive and a simple checkout flow designed to increase conversion rates.

Stowaway Cosmetics was acquired by WIN Brands Group in 2019.
